HYDROCEROL BIH is a chemical endothermic foaming and nucleating agent powder for thermoplastic resins in extrusion and injection moulding. HYDROCEROL BIH is not exothermic like AZO-compounds or Sulfohydrazides, the main decomposition product is carbondioxide (not Nitrogen) leading to several advantages compared to exothermic foaming agents: • Easier temperature control and shorter cooling times • Finer cell structure • Suitable for food applications In the extrusion HYDROCEROL allows density reductions of 15 to 30% in films and sheets and 20 to 40% in pipes, profiles and boards. In injection molding HYDROCEROL delivers many advantages, including: reduced part weights, reduced cycle times, reduced warping and sink marks, improved melt flow and improved dimensional stability. HYDROCEROL BIH activation temperature is 140°C and is recommended for all thermoplastic resins, to achieve an optimum gas yield a processing temperature of at least 180°C is suggested.
