How inclusion and leadership drive innovation
At IMCD Italy, we believe that diversity is not just a value, it’s a driving force for innovation. That’s why we had the pleasure of hosting A Female Business. Conversation with Gianna Martinengo, an inspiring event dedicated to women’s leadership, inclusion and the future of STEM.
As part of the March 8 Every Day initiative and under the patronage of Municipio 6 of the City of Milan, the event gathered voices from different backgrounds to explore a shared vision: a workplace where talent, regardless of gender, thrives.
The discussion opened with a warm welcome from Marco Madeddu, Managing Director of IMCD Italy, who reaffirmed IMCD’s commitment to fostering an inclusive culture. But the true heart of the conversation came in the exchange between Gianna Martinengo - entrepreneur, President of Women&Tech® ETS, and recognized as one of Fortune Italia’s 50 Most Influential Women in 2022 - and Giulia Bedini, HR Manager at IMCD Italy. Guided by moderator Diego Biasi, CEO & Founder of BPRESS, they explored the evolving role of women in business and the power of inclusive leadership.
One theme resonated throughout: the future belongs to those who embrace multidisciplinarity. In a world where technology and humanities increasingly intersect, innovation thrives when different perspectives come together. Beyond technical expertise, soft skills - like adaptability and communication - emerged as essential tools for professional growth.
Yet, the path to equality in STEM is still a work in progress. The speakers emphasized the importance of structured initiatives that actively support women in technical fields, ensuring that businesses and institutions play their part in bridging the gender gap. And while certifications are a step in the right direction, true inclusivity requires something deeper: a cultural shift that transforms workplaces into engines of empowerment, education, and long-term impact.
At IMCD Italy, we believe businesses can, and should, be catalysts for social change. Through moments like this, we reaffirm our commitment to shaping a future where diversity isn’t just welcomed; it’s celebrated as our greatest strength.
Let’s keep the conversation going. Because the future is built together.
