IMCD Italy’s first Open Day
On 16 June 2025, IMCD Italy welcomed a new generation of talent for its very first Open Day, a full-day experience designed for students from top Italian Universities and Higher Technical Institutes, including ITS Nuove Tecnologie, ITS Incom, Università degli Studi di Milano and UNISG - Università di Scienze Gastronomiche di Pollenzo.
It was more than just a visit – it was a hands-on opportunity to dive into the world of speciality chemical distribution and formulation, discover the wide range of career opportunities IMCD offers across its market sectors, and connect directly with the people who bring our work to life.
Held between the STEP FuturAbility District and our Milan head office, the event guided students through the heart of IMCD Italy. From our laboratories and workspaces to our business units and culture, attendees gained a tangible understanding of what it means to work in a company where science meets purpose.
Students explored our offices and took part in immersive sessions inside our Beauty & Construction and Adhesives & Sealants labs. The experience showcased how cross-functional and collaborative our work truly is, bringing together formulation, technical expertise and customer success.
But beyond the science, the Open Day was also about people. As Giulia Bedini, HR Manager at IMCD Italy, shared: "We wanted students to see first-hand what it means to work at IMCD. Opening our doors to them was a way to break down barriers between higher education institutions and industry, and to inspire the next generation to think about their future within our world. This initiative also allowed us to share our culture of collaboration and our passion for creating value through people."
The event also reflected IMCD’s broader commitment to nurturing young talent and promoting diversity and inclusion in the workplace. With sustainability and innovation at the heart of our mission, IMCD strives to be not only a leader in the industry, but an inspiring and supportive place to grow.
As Marco Madeddu, Managing Director of IMCD Italy, remarked: "This initiative is part of our long-term vision to consolidate meaningful connections with the academic world. We want to continue to attract brilliant minds and give them space to grow within an international, collaborative, and forward-thinking environment."
Ending the day with enthusiastic student comments was the greatest satisfaction:
"I really enjoyed discovering how the different roles collaborate with each other."
"The aspect of the day that I preferred was the opportunity to talk with the specialized people from the various sectors."
The success of this first edition is just the beginning. IMCD Italy is already looking ahead to continue opening doors, building new bridges, and inspiring the scientists, innovators, and professionals of tomorrow.
