ESTICLEAN 159 is based on a mixture of esters and nonionic emulsifiers of vegetable origin. The product is normally used undiluted followed by waterwashing in a 2nd step. ESTICLEAN 159 is a replacement for acetone and other volatile organic solvents in the packaging and insulation industry.ESTICLEAN 159 is primarily used to remove residues of polystyrene from mould sand other production equipment. However, ESTICLEAN 159 is generally considered to be an excellent solvent for polar resins and might be used as a resin clean-up for polyester, poly-acrylates, PVA and PVC. ESTICLEAN 159 is applied at room temperature by brush, spray gun or a cloth in case of small items. Larger moulds and equipment are usually cleaned by immersion into ESTICLEAN 159. The cleaning efficiency is dramatically improved at elevated temperatures, 40-70C. Thick resin residues are removed by a scraper before rinsing with water (preferably using a high-pressure cleaner).
