VIBRACURE A 125 is a high molecular weight polyester diol which can be used to cure polyurethane prepolymers. It is especially useful when blended with 1,4-Butanediol in various proportions to obtain a range of hardnesses from a single polyester-MDI prepolymer. With TDI prepolymers MBCA/A 125 blends result in softer urethanes without the useof plasticizer. The tear strength of these polymers is significantly better than those obtainable with MBCA/TP 30LW. The vulcanizates are characterized by: Good tear Variable resilience Good abrasion resistanceVibracure A 125, with and without 1,4-Butanediol, can be used to produce urethanes having FDA approval for use with wet foods. As received the curative is a white, waxy solid. For processing, containers of curative have to be placed in a 158F oven until the contents are melted.
