Cyclic corrosion tests provide the best possible simulation in the laboratory of natural corrosion occurring outside. In the Q-FOG, an instrument for cyclic corrosion tests, samples are exposed to a number of different environments in a repeated cycle that reproduces external cyclic conditions. Simple cycles, such as Prohesion, can consist of alternating cycles between salt spray and dry conditions. The most sophisticated methods used in the automotive industry may require
multiple stages that include moisture or condensation cycles, along with salt spray and drying. Inside a Q-FOG chamber you can choose from a number of environments that are more significant for corrosion. The Q-FOG controller allows the operator to easily program even complex tests or to choose from a wide range of pre-programmed procedures. In order to meet a wide range of test requirements, all Q-FOG chambers are available in two sizes: 600 L and 1100L.

The SSP (salt spray & prohesion) model can perform numerous accelerated corrosion tests, including continuous salt spray (ASTM B117 and ISO 9227) or alternating with dry Prohesion cycles (ASTM G85 Annex 5).


Q-FOG CCT model has all the advantages of the SSP model, but adds cycle flexibility with 100% humidity;  it is therefore possible to expose the samples to repeated cycles of salt spray, high humidity, low humidity dry-off drying and ambient conditions. This multi-functional tester is designed to perform these cyclic tests automatically in a single chamber. In addition, the CCT model can perform tests with Copper-Accelerated Acetic-Acid Salt Spray (CASS) such as ASTM B368 or ISO 9227 CASS.


This model has all the features and advantages required in corrosion chambers, adding relative humidity control. Through the use of an innovative air-preconditioner this model is able to perform temperature and humidity ramps precisely and quickly. It also includes a Shower function that can be used alternately with traditional salt spray. Thanks to these features it can perform most of the most important automotive corrosion standards such as GMW 14872, SAE J2334, and many others such as Ford, ISO, GB/T, VW, Volvo, Chrysler, Renault, JASO, and others.


The QCT tester uses condensation at 100 per cent humidity to simulate and accelerate dew damage on metals, paints and organic materials. By increasing the condensation temperature, processes are accelerated compared to natural exposures. The user is able to program the QCT tester to create continuous condensation at 100 per cent humidity, or to set dry/wet cycles. The temperature range is from room temperature to a maximum of 70°C. The QCT tester complies with many standards, including: ASTM D4585 , ISO 6270-1, BS 3900, Part F9.
